Volunteer for an organization that connects people
Get involved in the Portland real estate community and help manage one of the most attended real estate events in town.
Without volunteers the event would not continue. Volunteers help with setup, greeting, clean-up as well as marketing and scheduling. How can I help with setup? The day before the event we transport all of the 300+ wine glasses, furniture and other party necessities. Volunteers could help drive them from storage to the event space as well as help unpack and ready the location for the party the next day. 
What does a greeter do? As guests arrive, you insure they understand any house rules for the location as well as feel warm and welcome. The greeter also collects wine, donations and money brought by guests. The greeter also insures the guests register by either handing a business card in or writing their contact information on our registration clipboard. What does clean-up involve? Cleanup involves collecting all the wine glasses and utensils from the event and consolidating them in one location. In addition, candles are blown out and consolidated to one location. Wine bottles and other recycling is removed from the event space. All items are consolidated and put in one location for pick up the next day. What is involved with the next day pick-up? The day after the event, we schedule to move all of the event merchandise, wine glasses and other itmes. This usually requires a truck or SUV to carry the wine glasses. What kind of marketing can a volunteer do? 
From simply inviting your co-workers to mailing out flyers or giving presentations to real estate companies, there are many activites a volunteer can help and make a big impact.
What are the events like? Come to our next social, it's the last Friday of the month. Invite your friends and remember to bring a great bottle of wine and/or $5-20 to help cover costs.
